SNUC Success Story
My name is Margaret Green and I
am Catherine's Mother. Thank you for sharing your
story with us as it was comforting to know we were
not the only ones doing it "tuff". My heart goes out
to you and your family as I know exactly what you
must have been going through and still going through
even to-day. I had never heard of this deadly
disease until our Michael was diagnosed with it in
November 2008. Like your John his first symptoms
were a blocked nose, bleeding from the nasal
passage, headaches and numbness in the face. He was
going to the Dr who said he had sinus trouble and
gave him two lots of antibiotics to try to fix the
problem. When this didn't work he was sent to an
ear, nose and throat specialist who did a biopsy and
sent him to Brisbane for more scans. I still
remember clearly the afternoon Michael rang us to
say he didn't have good news and that it had spread
to behind his eye, his jaw, carotid artery and the
base of his skull. My husband then accompanied him
back to Brisbane to speak with more doctors. The
prognosis was not good and they said there could be
no surgery as it was attached to the carotid artery
and more or less gave him about 18 months. The Drs
said after the Radium, he would be blind in the left
eye, deaf in the ear, loose all his teeth, would
have massive headaches, and would never work again.
Michael studied Environmental
Science at school and was 25 years of age when
diagnosed. Like your John he was extremely fit,
played footy, went pig hunting and fishing and
really enjoyed life. He had a nice little girlfriend
whom he met at University however she could not deal
with his illness and they parted company last year.
Michael had six weeks of Chemo
and Radium at the Wesley Hospital in Brisbane and
the Chemo he was given was called "Gemzar". They
doctors at this hospital were absolutely marvelous
and I'm sure they had the most updated equipment
with which to treat Michael.
I meant to mention that
Michael worked at a Mining site which produces Lead,
Silver and Zinc. He told me he never wore a mask
when burning some chemical filters so whether this
had something to do with his illness we will never
know.
I decided not to take this
horrible disease lying down and by divine providence
I picked up this book on cancer at a Health Food
Shop which was written by a fellow named Barry
Thomsen who had cleared himself twice of Melanoma. I
read it from front to back and used a lot of the
alternative treatments mentioned in the book.

have had so many requests for the things I have
given Michael).
One of the things was a
product called Bovine Tracheal Cartilage. By about
June Michael started to look and feel better and
better. Because we thought he only had a limited
time left with us he and his 3 siblings went to a
lovely beachside resort north of here for a long
week-end. When they came home Catherine said to me
"Mum Michael was blowing this thick white rubbery
stuff from his nose" and we firmly believe this was
the start of the tumor coming away.. This went on
for quite some months. My husband Keith went back to
Brisbane with him on the 3rd of August for a Pet
Scan. When they saw the specialist on the 5th August
he said "I have some good news for you two as
Michael does not have one bit of cancer left in his
body". He said all the tumors were dead.
I'm sure you can imagine our
jubilation on hearing this news as to us it was just
a miracle as all the Doctors said he was just going
to die. I firmly believe it was the work of the
wonderful; doctors and all the alternate treatment I
had given him. After reading this book I have to say
I am no longer a great believer in Chemotherapy and
I look on it as a poison. I have heard too many
success stories from Barry Thomsen who have followed
a lot of the theories in this book.
We still live in fear that
this dreadful thing might return but thankfully
Michael is a very sensible lad and still follows a
sensible diet and I'm still doing the juicing etc..
I think I will be doing it till the day I die.

and like the Mother Hen of the family gave us a
lovely little Granddaughter five weeks ago named
Madeleine and so this has given us great joy. We
didn't think Michael would be with us to enjoy his
two new nieces.

purchased which we are certain helped in
Michaels recovery is called JOIN OUR ESCAPE FROM

First of all we
purchased the slow juicer, juiced beetroot,
carrot and wheatgrass which we grew ourselves.
Mike had 2 full glasses of this daily to which
we added BOVINE TRACHEAL CARTLIDGE - 30 mls as
his was a severe case. Keith grows the
wheatgrass however it explains in the book how
to grow it.
We also purchased
the PAPAYA 35 to build up his immune system, He
took 6 flaxseed tablets a day, and a product
called ERASE which is mentioned in the book to
eradicate all parasites. Mike is still on a
maintenance dose of that 3 days a week.
Red meat was
eliminated from his diet, and he ate mainly free
range chicken, fish and vegetables. He drank
pure water to which he added CELLFOOD drops
which alkaline the body.
We also juiced
many different kinds of fruits (skin and all) in
the slow juicer to which we added ACAI BERRY
POWDER ( a very powerful antioxidant)
If organic fruit and
vegetables are unable to be purchased we washed
it in water and 1% vinegar.
We are very greatful
to the Drs at the Wesley and also to Barry
Thomson the author of this great book. I
informed Rochways of Michaels recovery and they
passed the good news on to Barry. He phoned me
and so it was really great to speak to him in
person. He believes WHEATGRASS to be the main
fighter.

Another Story From Janet
My husband is an 8 year survivor of this terrible
disease. He was diagnosed eight years ago, two months
after the birth of our second daughter.
He had stage four disease, but it had
not spread. His surgery was at Stanford University and
after the surgery they told me that they were able to
get clean margins all the way around. After surgery, he
went through six weeks of aggressive radiation. It was
horrible. They never told me that he would die, and
they never told me that he would live.
Even though its been eight years,
and he has no evidence of disease, I worry about him
making it to the ten year mark. I'm so grateful for
every day that we've had. The dr. told him that if he
has cancer again in that area, it would not be a
recurrence, it would be a completely different kind of
cancer. The dr. is pretty sure that he won't get it

Below are more details on
this success story...
This past Saturday was the 8th anniversary of my
husband's surgery. Wow!
So his only symptom with the
cancer really was having a stuffy nose. He had gone to
the dr. who said that he probably had a sinus infection,
so he went on about 3 rounds of antibiotics. Nothing
worked. Then he had an x-ray, and they told him they
saw nothing. It continued to get worse and he
complained that it felt like he couldn't breath out of
his nose at all. He had a couple of nose bleeds at work
and his PCP referred him to an ENT. The ENT ordered a
CT scan and that's when he found the mass. He referred
him to Stanford. They did an MRI as well as endoscopy.
They told us that he did have a large mass but it
probably wasn't cancer because he didn't fit the profile
for the person who gets this kind of cancer (they said
that these cancers mostly occur in older Asain men. My
husband was 42 at the time and he is Caucasian).
They did a biopsy and a week later
they called to confirm that it was cancer. It was stage
IV but had not metastasized. It had eaten through the
dura and subarachnoid but not the pia matter.
They did a radical resection and
they were able to get clear margins all they way around
during the surgery. They said that the fact that they
got all the cancer and were able to get clear margins is
probably why he survived. They were very, very
aggressive with the surgery.
He did not get chemo, but he did
get radiation therapy. At the time, it was some kind of
new radiation that would attack only the area
surrounding where the tumor had been. I remember that
they told me that it covered 16 fields but I don't
remember any of the other specifics. It was six weeks,
five days a week.
The radiation was terrible. They
covered his head to mid chest. He lost his hair and it
burned his mouth and throat. He was unable to talk or
eat. He lost so, so much weight.
During the surgery, they severed
his olfactory nerve so he can no longer smell anything
and his sense of taste is minimal.
The first year after the surgery,
he saw the dr. every month. Now he only has to go once
a year. The dr. told him that if he gets cancer in his
head again, it would be a completely new kind of cancer,
not a recurrence of what he already had.
